The diet industry is one of the most profitable industries in the entire world today. Do you know why?
Because people are looking for a "quick fix". They're looking for the magical cure that's going to help them lose weight within hours, without them having to do any work.
The more and more I look around and study how the world is working today, the more I realize that people are becoming addicted to instant gratification.
You can buy products instantly online, and literally have it in your mailbox the next day. People pay a lot of money for this option, instead of just waiting an extra day or two!
People get their paychecks and immediately find somewhere to spend it. It's actually quite amazing if you ask people what they do with their extra money.
You'll hear things such as "actually, I don't know where it went", "everything's so expensive anymore, no wonder why it's gone so quick", or "well I've been working hard so I wanted to give myself a treat".
The same thing happens in the world of fitness as well. People just realized now that they want results, but now they want them yesterday!
These people then go on starvation diets because they don't want to be fat anymore. They don't care about how healthy they are, as long as they lose weight (even though most of the time they lose muscle).
Did you know that one of the major determining factors in a persons success is their ability to delay instant gratification?
Knowing this is how people think, today's diet companies are taking full advantage of the situation. They come out with products that promise to help a person lose 10 pounds in the first week. They say, just drink this smoothie and you won't feel hungry ever again!
These companies could care less about your body, how fat or skinny you are, or how you feel. It's the truth. When it comes down to it, all they care about is how much money they're going to make.
I guarantee that if I was as heartless as these diet companies, I could probably come out with some kind of product that helped people lose weight.
But I won't.
Want to know why?
Because the only way you can lose weight in a healthy way, is simply be having a good understanding of how your body works and exploiting that knowledge so it becomes much easier for you to achieve the body you desire.
It's been said that "knowledge is power". Well, how is knowledge power if you don't do anything about it? In my mind, the real power is in taking action with the knowledge that you have.
Even more power comes when you are able to learn from a mentor who has already gone through the same things you have, and has an almost unimaginable knowledge of how the body works and how to achieve the body you desire.
Health and fitness shouldn't consist of starving yourself, not taking pleasure in food, or working out 3 hours per day. It should be something you enjoy and can easily do without making your anymore difficult.
What you need is a lifestyle change. If you truly want to be fit the rest of your life, you must plan on eating healthy and regularly exercising for the rest of your life. It's as simple as that.
